Emergency brake

What are everyone thoughts on an emergency brake . What type hyd , cable, and handle type????????????

I had the cable type. I think I got everything from Lokar to go with the shifter. I had the old style vertical handle. It was hard to reach so I never used it. I think if I had it to do again I would get the lay down handle and mount it crosswise in front of the seat.

cable, good old reliable.
Ct. used to require a "Mechanical Parking Brake "separate of the Vehicles main braking system activating atleast the 2 rear brakes on the vehicle in the event of brake failure of the main system. This was how it was writen in their old Composite Vehicle manual they had in the mid 70s but I believe the law still stands as writen

I have the Lokar unit that mounts vertically on the right side of the shifter on both of my cars.

I just added a lokar emergency brake to my lokar shifter. I also used the e-brake handle extension from Speedway. I just glassed back some of the hole I had to make yesterday. It was a fun job in close quarters since the car is a driver. I'll probable never use the e-brake but it always bothered me not having one.

I have the lay down across the front of the seat type. Not sure what it came out of. I think a Mustang II

do you guys have any pics. The lay down in front of the seat sounds good.

I was trying really hard to avoid "bling" pieces on my build but I was short of time and splurged on 2 lokar pieces, the entire Ebrake setup, handle/boot/cables, pretty nice piece and saved a possible nightmare using old mismatched junk. Other lokar piece I used was the flexible trans dipstick.. both seem to be holding up well..

What do you guys think bout this. Its off a geotracker 01 for 25 bucks

Not familiar with the Geotracker unit. I installed the Total Performance pinion-mounted kit with laydown handle in front of the seat.

Mine came with (as all Vega ones do) a metal channel type thing that just takes 4 bolts to the floor. EASY.
