Mike would have been so proud :) Someone on this site backed up their engine power claims with actual visual proof!

:thumbsup:Well Done Jeff! Looks like a real screamer of a small block. Now get the rest of the car done! :roflmao:

I sure do hope to be done for it. Working on front shocks right now had to buy more other ones were 1 inch too long. Just found out last week when I went to put them on. Guess i will be down to brake lines and a steering colume as for ready to get the frame finish welded and painted.

Time to go to work got to run. You all take care Thanks to all

Well, well, well those are some horse puppies.
If you have driven any thing with that power to weight ratio you know every thing demands to be top shelf and in perfect working order.
It will be, at a minimum, an 11 second performer. And it will be a hand full.
If you have never had this much horsepower, take baby steps until you are used to it.
Make sure you are pointed straight when you nail it.

Enjoy!

John

Best news I have heard today. That is exciting. How about some engine specs? Delighted to see the distributor in the front.
I am interested in the whole project, drive line, gears, brakes susp, etc, so give it up.

This is a ford clone block called Dart. The build is a modified Sherminator 347 Clone. The build sheet is pretty much all right here at this link. The Shermanator 347: A 530HP Gas Stroker You Can Build - Engine Builder Magazine only difference is 9.7 compression. Used Mahle forged pistons. Scat Steel crank. Scat H beam rods. put 205 cc AFR heads on it instead of the 185 cc and went with two 450 Holleys on top at 900 cfm. istead of the like the 1100 or 1200 cfm quick fule he used. I sellected and collected all the parts over a 1 year span. Then purchased the block from the assembler. I couldn't put it together for the price they shot me. Assembled and Dynoed by Competition Automotive and Machine Brandenburg KY. Backed that 593 up with not one but three pulls at the same 593 HP and on 93 octane pump gas at that. It;s not a fluke I seen it with my own eyes and will post the link to U tube as soon as I can get it on there. As fro drive train it's going to be a GM TH400 using a JW bell housing followed by a 9 inch ford. wanting to run like a 4.21 gear but my go with 4.11, 4.56 is too much I think. kind of undecided and depends on what kind of deal i get on gears when i am ready to hit the street. I do have one thing to say and you all know the old Saying Money buys speed! Now How fast do you want to go! I did a lot of scrounging for deals over the course of a year before I was ready to put it together. I did not go with Jessels shaft rockers I used a different one the Nascar boys run can't recall the name of hand will have to check but were about 300 buck cheaper than the Jessels and the quality is equal.

I got to add one more thing my hats of to the group of guys at Competition Automotive and Machine in Brandenburg. Couldn't ask for a finer group to work with. I was in no rush and they had other paying customers all summer with Drag engines and others with more important issues than I had. So it was there for just over a year as they knew I was in no rush and didn't expect to have it done yesterday. We kind of understood each others circumstances and worked together. to get it done, but when I said it was about time for us to get it done now that race season was about over and I getting closer to needing it done, it didn't take much over a month and it was done. They have even offered to let me leave it in their climate controlled shop until I am ready to Install it if I wish. Now that's Service. Many Thanks to all of them.

Here is explanation of first four pulls on dyno during tunning.

Nicely done. That is a lot of gear in the rear end. I guess tall tires will make a difference. The TH 400 is not OD is it? Keep us updated on the build. I won't worry about quality of the car, after seeing how you did the engine. Be careful.

Sounds great , my guess is w/that gear , you'll get tired of feeding it & switch to a3.55 . or so . Remember that these cars don't weigh anything , so blinding acceleration's really not a problem !!

Gotta agree with that! I have 3.43's in mine (454 powered) and I'm hoping to bring it down to 2.70 somethings over the winter.
Man...that T will be blindingly quick as it is!
Someone said its going where its pointing when you punch it and they are right.
Won't matter where the wheels are pointing...it's going wherever the frame is pointed when you nail it!
Please be careful!!!
