Ron first and foremost save EVERY reciet for every nut, bolt, washer anything you buy and if possible get one for the things you get free.

I have learned to keep all recipts and take pictures of the build along the way. Last time I did it I cared a big box full into the DMV, set on the counter and stated to the clerk - I need to get a VIN Number and get a title and registration. Expect the clerk to look at you like you just farted or something. It takes some jumping in and out of hoops - Good Luck.

Find out what you are going to have to do for inspection, build it right and safe. Then overwhelm them with paperwork. They like pictures almost as much as we do.
