Ford 390 FE??

Have an opportunity to buy a mid to late 60's Ford 390 FE engine that's fully rebuilt for pretty cheap. Engine hasn't been run since it was rebuilt. Question is I had Spirit but small block Ford engine mounts on my frame. Does anybody know if the Ford 390 FE blocks had similar engine mounts to the Windsor engines? How about info on this motor? Were the 390 FE's good engines? I guess they are similar to the 352's.

Call Josh at Spirit and he can tell you if the mounts are the same. The 390's were good engines. had one in a 62 Thunderbird.

I love the 390 and will have one in my bucket if I ever have to replace the 289..............

I can pick it up for $1000 or maybe even less and it's fully rebuilt. A friend of mine has it on a shelf in his garage and asked if I wanted to put it in my 27. Would I have to custom make headers for this engine? I would like a T Bucket style exhaust but can't find anything for this engine.

Don't know much about the FE fords except the CJ stuff bolts on and that means the Shelby stuff is good too!!!

my pal John and I built a bucket with a 390 c6 setup. It was a lot more trouble than a more common motor, but........
It is a very torquy basterd and gets a lot of looks and differet is cool!
