Alt Bantam

Ceiling height great enough for a lift?

Thanks for posting. I was just thinking about you today! Very much interested to see this car take shape.

Just an update. No work on the car since my last post. Still working on getting a garage built. I have a builder, but he was working on another project. Last week he started the proceeders to get permits for my workshop. There is a lot of prep work needed before the foundation can be poured. I hope to have a workshop before spring.
How's the progress on your "workshop " coming along? A couple of pics for motivation . . .

Spanky contacted me so I thought I would post an update on my workshop. Below are some recently taken pictures. The first picture is the latest photo taken a week ago after the siding was installed. The front has to be stucco since the house is stucco. It's a HOA thing. Luckily, they are not crazy so as long as the front, seen from the street, is the same as the house in color and texture.... The second photo is the inside. This was taken before the doors, windows and siding was installed. Dimensions are 24' x 36'. There is a half bath in the rear right corner. Ceiling at 10'. I did not want to pay for the inside to be finished. I think I might buy rough cut lumber from local sawmill and use it on the walls. Perhaps some corrugated steel along the bottom. The third pictures is from the front. The current driveway from the front edge of the house to the rear of the house will be pulled up and repoured. There will be an additional 8' added to the driveway width. The workshop sits 15' off the rear of the house. That whole area in front will be concrete. This will double the driveway at the house garage and add additional parking in front of the workshop. The fourth picture was taken last year after we sold our old house. I have a 10' x 30' rented storage packed full of stuff from my old workshop. The bantam, less motor and transmission, is parked in the house garage. As you can see, there really isn't much room there to work. I hope the have the workshop ready by September to start moving thing over from storage. September will be a year since we sold the other house and all work stopped on the Bantam. My old workshop was 32 x 32, just over a 1000 sf. But it had one door and two garage doors in the front. Air circulation was zero without running fans. My new workshop has windows on both side for cross ventilation. Even in the 90 plus degree heat, it is cooler than my old workshop with fans. I will post again once I get everything moved in.
