Reading through Jon Dioli's issues with his caliper brackets made me think of sharing this.
I'm running a Vega box cross steering setup, and wanted some forged steering arms for my Speedway Chevy spindles. Couldn't find a thing like what's available for Ford spindles. All that's out there as far as I know are the ones made from flat steel plate.
Don (donsrods) steered me to these Chassis Engineering arms for 1935-1948 Fords with drum brakes.
All I had to do was heat up and pinch the mounting holes a bit to 3 1/8".
I tack welded some jigs in my vise to keep the holes parallel . . .
heated and squeezed until the 'stop' put'em at the right distance.
Worked out perfect. I would have never known about these.
