This is an ad from the 1927 Indy souvenir program. Looks like the Chevy guys were selling go-fast parts before anyone.

Louis Chevrolet was a real racer in the early days and sold his name and share in Chevrolet very early on (which ended up losing him millions) to keep racing and building race cars and parts. He drove in 4 Indy 500's, and started several auto and parts companies - all which failed. Sad thing is that he died penny-less and forgotten. He is actually buried here in Indianapolis with a very small and unceremonious grave stone. There is however a great memorial to him at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum.
