frame horns

Is anyone using model A frame rails or have access to one? I need a template of the section forward of the front x-member. This would speed things up for me. I wouldn't have to wait for the front fenders to rough it in on my chassis.

Length and shape, the holes aren't important on mine. My only other option is to buy a pair from Reids hotrods for 60 bucks. Alot of money for just a pattern, my frame is 304ss........ruggs

You must want to polish the whole frame? using stainless for the frame... Good luck with your project... :)

Ted, I will only polish it one time, then it gets a clear powdercoat.....ruggs

Don't exactly know what you want but I have this Model A frame with a IFS front crossmember I can layout for you. Let me know if you need something. I am leaving with it Sat and taking it and the body to Wyotech in Laramie for my son to work on his Street Rod project.

Blownt,
If I had a template of one frame horn (side view) from center of your crossmember forward it would work for me. Width isn't important in what I'm doing. I would be forever in your debt (or at least $60 + shipping)..........ruggs

I've been trying to send you a full size template of a frame horn but it always come out smaller that actual size. If you send me your snail mail addy , I'll send it to you that way.

Ron,
Just sent you a PM.............thanks.....ruggs

You can draw a line on your sketch that is a certain set length, like 3". Then send him or fax or email the sketch. When he gets it he can measure the line. Say he comes up with a length of 2 ¾",. Then all he has to do is divide 2.75 by 3 and comes up with 1.09. Go to Kinkos and use the copy machine, set it on enlarge to 109. Then you have the correct sized layout. I do it all the time here at work when I lay out a design on my computer and send it to the printer but it comes out smaller then it should be. Just measure it and divide by the correct dimension and enlarge it on the Xerox machine.

Thanks for the info blownT

Ron

Well I think Mr. Youngster has covered my tail on this one and thanks to all........ruggs (another Ron)
