From the Coating Shop...

Thought I'd start a thread as a place to show pics of some of the interesting things that come through our Powdercoating /Ceramic coating shop here in Indy.
To start off with, here is a frame that just came in this week for a powdercoat job. Mike will be familiar with this as it is a Murf McKinney Top Fuel Funny car frame. This came from Don Schumacher Racing and is one of their retired chassis destined for the show-car circuit. Now if you could drop a T body over it and put in a Fuel Hemi, that could be fun!

Yep, it looks as if the image paths were incorrect. If you want to send me the correct paths, I'll be happy to edit the first post for you.
Mike: PM Sent. Sorry, I must have moved the image after posting.. o_O it shows up on my screen...

Oh this gonna be interesting ,, So you coating everything frame, wheels, seat

Thought I'd drop in a few more pics of some of the stuff we've been up to in the coating shop:
First off, an exhaust header and 3 turbos for a John Deere pulling tractor...some serious 6 cylinder power from this one! These get 2500 degree thermal exhaust coating.

Clutch plates for TF dragsters. One side gets a thermal coating and the clutch side gets an anti-friction coating:

Nitro RC boat header. Pretty wild stuff. We just finished coating over a dozen of these for the current NHRA TF Dragster Champ Antron Brown.

Enough of the race stuff: Here is an old school go-cart in a candy red:

Finally: A huge pile of stadium seat mounts ready for blasting and powdercoat. This is a pretty cool project. The seats are from the old AAA ball field here in Indy. A group purchased and removed the seats which are being rebuilt and put together for bus stop seats. This is the 3rd batch we've done and there is no end in site!

Looks like business is really good and as it should be when the work is real quality.

Very Nice work !!!

Thought it might be time for another update:
A pile of Monster Truck parts to be stripped and coated. We've been doing these for a while now. These just came in this week:

We finished these axles, brakes, suspension parts and wheels a few months ago.

Some of the parts made it on the Tom Meents' new Maximum Destruction (Max D) SEMA show truck that debuted this last week. It will be on an upcoming episode of "Car Crazy".

Some motorcycle exhaust pieces that received a high-temp thermal coating - production for Vance & Hines

And perhaps the coolest thing to enter the shop in the last year: A bull sculpture that will receive a bronze powdercoat. This was sculpted by artist Tom Patsis which by day builds Top Fuel Chassis as a fabricator for Don Shoemacher Racing and by night is an awesome automotive sculpture artist. This one is for a corporate client. Check out his website here: http://www.coldhardart.com I'll make sure to post a pic of it finished.

Here's a few shots of the Monster truck rims and parts after finishing. These are some HEAVY wheels! All these parts go on the Maximum Destruction circuit trucks based out of IL. They swing by on their way to events and pickup/drop off. When these get picked up we'll get another set of wheels and parts.

The next few months are typically our busiest. Our business is centered around the racing and hot-rodding industry. Now that all the race seasons are over, we get overrun with tons of stuff. Its not uncommon for a full 53' race hauler to back up to the shop and unload all the pit equipment, and parts for next season. This is just half of what came in on Friday from Ganassi Racing and DSR. Lots of tool boxes and pit stuff. Gotta love when they change colors for sponsors!

and here is one of the Indy Car owner's Lotus 7 chassis -getting grey powdercoat. Next to it is a set of Delorean wheels. For some reason we get a lot of these. We even did a set in PINK once!
