gas pedal mounting

How do ya mount a gas pedal in these things, The guy that built the one Ive purchased.Glued a piece of pine too the firewall mounted the fusebox which is fine. but also used the same piece of pine to mount some cheesy gas pedal, to which has subseqently pull out all of the screws out. I orderd a nice billet pedal and now am tryin ta figurea new mounting system..thanx

I used a 3x3x3/4 in.piece of plywood and put two 1/4 clinch nuts in the back mounted my Lokar Spoon and found a comfortable spot and put Liquid Nails on the back and stuck it on the fire wall looks good no problems and it use's 1/4-20 machine screws not wood screws.Hope this helps.
