I have been having issues with my car "jumping around" occasionally. After reading many posts here on wheel alignments and shocks and trying a couple different wheel alignment settings I still have more to go. I just returned from Cruizin the Coast in Biloxi and out of the 20 or so T-buckets there was only one that had a panhard bar in the front (looked like a spirit unit). There was a couple with hydraulic shocks and the rest all had friction shocks. I never looked at the tires but I don't recall seeing any with bias ply tires like my car has. In my quest to get my car figured out I thought I would do a poll to see what everyone else here is running for shocks.

Has anyone changed the size of tubing used for their steering components? I always thought mine was pretty flimsy and I did notice a few cars with larger tubing and rod ends on their steering components.

Thank you for your time,

For what it's worth I had bias tires and got rid of them. The car was darty on the road.Very choppy. Much better with radials

I have heard that and the first thing I am going to try is some radials off of my other car.

For the very first time in my life I am considering going to radials on my 23. I have always defended bias plies, but have had some imbalance issues that concern me lately.

As for shocks, no question a good set of hydraulics are much better IMO.

could it be those wonderful foreign tires?

I'm running Cokers too, same as I've run for 20 years (not the same set ) Never had a problem until recently, now the places that mount them for me are saying they are having problems getting them to balance properly. Around town no problem it's at highway speeds that I can watch the front ones jump up and down a little........makes me pretty nervous. What I think I'll do is keep the bias plies on my 27 and maybe put radials on the 23 as it has a shorter wheelbase and seems most prone to the problem.

I have friction shocks on the front and coil-overs on the rear with radials all around. I have absolutely no bouncing as you have described. I can cruise at interstate speed all day with no problems.
