My next project is going to be a Model A because I'm a sissy and want something to drive in the winter. However... after that, if I win the lottery, I might think about another T with one of these: http://thunderv12.com/ Would probably be the only one on the block.

We had one of the V6's that engine is based on in a welding truck several years ago. Somewhere around 350 cubic inches I think. That thing was a torque monster, but there was enough iron in it to build a couple of small blocks!

I'm thinking you would need some thing like Leno's tank car to hold a V12 like that. Probably wouldn't need any gears though. Just straight drive, high gear only. Why waste time shifting with that much torque!!:jester:

I didn't know there was anyone actually rebuilding them for rod use, but a couple years ago I seriously wanted to build a rod with one of those until I discovered that the redline is something like 2500 RPMs. GM used four more or less stock V-6 truck heads and a few other of off the shelf parts. perhaps not the most practical bang for the buck, but it sure would look cool .

I agree that it wouldn't be practical, but where's the fun in that? This is what impressed me (from their website) "Our shop houses a 700hp, 660tq stroker Ford. Up to 3,500rpm the ThunderV12 will spin that Ford backwards!"

yep...fun is where its at!.If it don't spin fast enough for ya, put a gear splitter back there before the trans...or run a trans ahead of a trans....see what I mean? Alot of possibilities!

I'm not that familiar with the 702, but I've dealt with the Allisons and Merlins...and they are in deed powerhouses...they apply the power to the crank in a whole new prospective. Ease out too fast on the clutch, the car won't move, it just sits there and spins.

I'd love to see one in a T!!!

I believe I've seen a Jag V12 either in a speedster or a T quite a few years back...

You want a V12, look no further. This bad boy is a 4 1/8" bored powerhouse rather like one and a half 400SBC's.
Here in NZ there is a 3/4 scale model P51 flying with a falconer V12 in it. I have seen and heard another in Australia on the strip, three Holley Dominators sitting on top

Admittedly a puny 600CI but the two I have heard sound glorious, absolutely wonderful.
Screamin', those Jag engines make damn fine boat anchors, :)

Yep Mango, I agree....but its a V12 though. The brits kinda lost their wege board on that one.

Hey. I'm all excited about the 600 Ci.In.'er that you just
informed us about. I had heard about them before...a fellow builder told me they're the 'CBX' of V12's. What I mean about that is smaller, more compact. Like the 6 cylinder Honda CBX Motorcycle motor.

I'd love to have one of those. Lots of power, DEFINITE eye catcher and it only weighs 700 lbs., but I had to stop at the part that said "$65,000.00 base price."

you'll have plenty of fun with the model A anyway. we love ours, and can buy a lot of gas with the $65K that we saved..
