Grille Shell

So, I want to use a Model A grille shell for my bucket. Is that doable? It should fit between these frame rails, right?
Thanks guys for any advice or pictures if you have any on this type of set up.

hehe no biggy, but necessary for guys with a Model A shell to let you know if their's would fit, I don't have one now, and CRS has me... I would think that should be good as mine is only 20 1/2" ID at the front cross member... Guys??

johnny, I'm using a 28-29 shell on my C-cab and it drops in tight between the rails.I'm not at the shop but will get you the measurements of the shell later tonight...Ron(ruggs)

If a standard 28-29 shell does not fit, Zipper makes a narrowed version which is what I'm running on my '27. Here's a pic of it and how it compares to a Speedway chopped 32 grille on my dads '27. Also, check with Spirit as they used to carry a fiberglass version of the standard '28-29 grille.

The 28-9 shell willfit just fine. The Mustang radiator will also fit in it.

I'm using the 32 grill shell from Spirit and it fits just fine between the rails. The shell is 19-3/4 wide at the frame.

Johnny,
The 28-29 measures 22.5 out of the frame rails. It's fairly flexable so IMO you shouldn't have a problem. My rails are 22 inches inside and it will work for me....Ron(ruggs)

Thanks everybody for your input. i was wondering if the Mustang radiator would work, and thanks to Youngster, now I know. Now, back to work.
