High Quality Bucket

Thumbing around completed listings on Ebay, this one really stood ou to me. Although not traditional, I was impressed with the simplicity but high quality parts used. Interior is neatly done to in my opinion, might give some guys some ideas. Just thought it might be interesting to share.
Nice Bucket Link

It is a clean build. I like Currie (not Curry) rear ends, that would be the 3rd choice behind Vette and Jag IRS for me. Would rather have a 6 speed manual or a 700R. Would be a good buy for someone like me with a desire to cruise long distances with low rpms. Just drove 500 miles last night in my T and the engine rpms reminded me of how fast they used to spin to cruise 70 mph back in the 1960's.

I guess the overdrives are the best new thing, can run a low rear gear for low end grunt, and overdrive everything for the freeways, and good quality low end engine would sure be hard to beat out of the gate... :face: Bob, glad you had a safe trip, so far ... still gotta get home..

Ted,

It was great seeing you on Monday and the many walks down memory lane that your 6 or 8 car garage provides. One advantage to a straight 4 speed no overdrive, on a congested freeway your always ready to "shoot the gap" without needing to downshift. I did drive more "spirited" on this trip, like getting on it once with you in the car. Last trip was cruising 65 to 70 mph, and maybe 3 full throttle hits got me 23 mpg. This trip 70 to 80 mph, more full throttle than I can remember and 2 passes over 100 mph, reduced mileage down to 17.5 mpg.

REALLY NICE BUCKET. But how in the heck do you put OVER $50,000 in a bucket build? Obviously he had somebody build it for him and paid the extra "fees", (toy T-bucket manufactured by a discount fabricator) discount fabricator for over 50K ???????

It say's "NOT some toy T-Bucket manufactured by a discount fabricator" It was engineered and assembled by Total Performance. The components and finish look top dollar to me. He could have accomplished the same thing with much less money though.

I'd say it got to it's actual value, even though it didn't meet reserve. to get over 13.500 for a bucket it wuld have to be gold plated I recon. very few would, sorry to say.

$50.000 is nothing when it comes to custom building a whole car, heck people spend that much painting their trick cars... An old friend (Junior) that used to do the very best Candy paint jobs, charged $50.000 to paint a new car, because it took 1000 hours to do the job correctly, so that ended up to be only $50 an hour... He figured since everyone else was making so much more doing other parts of the cars, He decided to quit doing them... I know you could spend that much on just an engine (keith Black) if you wanted to get carried away with big power... Just look at what you can spend on wheels and tires alone... :) Happy spending :winkn:

I could use one of those $50,000 jobs right about now!!!! LOL

unfortunatly... the amount of money you have IN a vehicle doesn't guarantee you will ever get that OUT of the car when you sell it. I have an 88 Fiero IMSA with Northstar power that I've invested over 30K in (NOT counting my own labor). high bid on E-bay last summer was about 6K . it sits in my garage gathering dust -

It's definitely a buyer's market right now. That car has been for sale locally for a long time and, I suspect, will be for a long time if he thinks he's going to recover even a third of his money.
