Huge Problem at the Highway Department

Back home a highway worker was given the job of painting white lines down the middle of the main road out of town. On his first day he painted six miles, the next day he painted three more miles, but the following day he painted less than a mile. When his foreman asked him why he kept painting less each day, the worker said back," I'm sorry boss, I just can't do any better, Every day I keep getting farther away from the paint can!"

We are having problems here with our highway dept. A lot of the workers are facing lay-offs. It seems in China a shovel has been developed that can stand up on its own.
