Identify this steering box

The driveline on my T is all from a 1957 Olds, the steering gear box and column might be too, but can anyone tell me for sure?
Is it worth re-using? Or should I scrap it and buy a Vega or Corvair box?

I am going to try to mount something through the firewall, this may not be long enough, but I think I can remove the shaft and add a longer one. I'm just not sure I want to spend the time on it if it's not worth saving.
Anyone have any input?

I can't seem to figure out how to add a picture from my gallery here, so here's the URL

That's not a 57 Olds box. Looks like a Ford truck from 40s or 50s. If it is lose or has tight spots when you turn the wheel I would not use it. Steering and brakes are areas where you want new components.

No, it's not loose and has no binding. I'm going to try to get the column seperated from the box next week. If I can lengthen the column I'll reuse it (save some money).

Thanks for adding the picture VegasBruce.
