Insurance

I have both my street rods with Grundy Insurance. My T, at a $25,000 appraisal, has a yearly premium of $137.50. The '37 Chevy, with a $237,ooo appraisal, has a yearly premium of $1303.50. I had Chrome from 2001 to 2011 and then they stopped writing in Florida so I switched to Grundy.

I use Hagerty also and am satisfied -
I notice there seems to be quite a disparity between premiums and amount of coverage in the above examples. what's up with that I wonder?????

Russ

PS: being a tightwad, I only keep 12K coverage on my T and it runs about $160.. yr.

It depends on the state you live in. We have extremely high rates here in La., all types of ins. Too many drivers with no ins causing wrecks.

The ages of the licensed drivers in the home makes a difference as well. My insurance quotes were much higher when my daughters were younger and lived at home.

I have State farm and pay $100.00 a year for my bucket valued at $20,000.00.

SF wouldn't insure mine except for liability here in NC. Fibreglass body, custom. Production cars and boats O/K. Now have Specialty Car Insurance @ $225.00 a year, full coverage at $21000.00 agreed value.
Also of note, Grundy-Chrome-Hagarty would not at that time insure because Custom cars as they were titled here at that time. Title was for the year the car was finished for tax purposes. SEMA here now, but have not tried to get the car re registered. My .02 worth

Remember, age, number of drivers, driving record and where you live are ALL factors in what you will pay from ANY company.

I have my regular vehicles with State Farm and my collector car policy was through State farm but was actually a Hagerty policy. After a couple years Hagerty just sent me a renewal directly and I pay them instead of State Farm. Same crap different pile.

I had a similar situation, but with Allstate. I'm sure the original agent still gets a kickback however.

I have Grundy and have never had to use them but am happy with them so far. Agreed value is $ 25,000 and rate is about $ 150 per year.
