JB's Project Revealed BoatBucket

Guys, I hope you like what I'm about to build, it is not going to be a T-Bucket, but it should be a similar build.

Hopefully my pics will load right. I started with this 66 F100. The body has more holes than a sieve, the transmission is shot, but the engine good and it has a great rear end.

It is now cut up to this.

And here's the new body.:)

A really bad drawing of what it should look like.

What do you think? In a yahoo image search type in "cadillac boat car" to see what I'm going for.

I have a question, what would be the best way to fix these cracks and keep them from coming back?

BT0017.jpg

sand it down.. repaint it and dont let it sit out in the sun for many many many years... those cracks come from UV rays and the owner not taking car of the paint job. That happens to all boats over the years.

So normal waxing and a good cover will keep this from happening again?

I got the boat and trailer for dirt cheap, I might build a matching camper with the trailer frame. A boat that can't float pulling a camper should turn some heads.

I think i would not worry about the cracks untill after you are done cutting . I think you will find you will loose a lot of support when you cut the bottom out for the frame. good luck

90% of the body is gone now.

I've got a lot of cleaning to do! I love how anything can be fixed with duct tape as shown here with the gear shift lever. My uncle actually drove this truck with a piece of threaded rod and a golf ball duct taped to this gear shift.

Here's previous projects I had. I sold them both, because they scared the crap out of me to drive. There was lots of things about this trike I hated, once I completed it.

And then at 27, I thought I knew better. I had it all figured out in my head what I didn't like about the first one.

You know what I discovered about my builds? Pot holes and road kill are hard to avoid when you are on 3 wheels!

The boat is cut up here is a shot of the frame with the boat pieces laying on it.

In a week, I'll start adding to the frame to support the boat's sides.

JB the carnival music is getting louder in my head. HA HA

I think this is a great project, I can't wait to see it a little farther along, keep the pictures coming.

Yea me to the pictures are getting cooler every post.

I'm breaking down the wires, steering column and pedals today. It sure is hot out there! I've gotta get it ready for next weekend when new parts start being added. There is 120 feet of 1 inch 11 guage square tubing, an assortment of angle iron, nuts and bolts screaming to become part of my boatcar. I think my welder is jealous of my circular saw, sawzall and grinders because it hasn't seen much action yet.

I'm so glad you guys are enjoying the pictures. I didn't take many pictures of the trikes as they went together or of my high school car. I regret that, so this time around I'm taking a round of pictures after each day or weekend I work on it. I can promise when I'm done with this buggy, I will have finally built a ride I'll be satisfied with. Because if I don't my wife is going to be so angry with me!

I got some welding done today!:hooray:

I've got a long way to go, but the frame is started!

It may be a while before I have any more pics. Here is the latest on the frame.

Here is a VERY ROUGH pic of what it should look like.

Thanks for all advise and comments, good or bad, I'm enjoying the feedback.:D

New rough pic of the boat car. It needs tall fins and bullet tail lights like a 59 caddy.

Oh I can't wait until Saturday when I get more steel! New pics after that.
