JEGS Transmission question

Need a TH350 for the T. Current unit slips in high gear and the quotes I have gotten for an overhaul range from 1,000.00 to 2,500.00 then I still am not sure what I am going to end up with. Did some looking and JEGS has one (item#60300) for a good price and was wondering if anyone has used this unit or knows about it? I have a mild SBC305 from a 77 IROC that according to original specs has under 250HP, rebuilt this winter but still stock. All that I need, as I do not drag race, just drive and enjoy with reasonable mileage and reliability.

That's the one I have. Seems to work well and no problems so far. My Engine is a 350HO with a 2500 stall convertor.

$2500 ?????? Man, that must be some rebuild! I'm thinking Oversize input shaft, manual valvebody, deep, finned pan, extra heavy duty sprag, etc, etc. You could get a B&M or a TCI for that....

A well-respected race tranny guy here in Kansas City rebuilt my TH350 with high-performance parts for $400. He moonlights out of his home garage, so no overhead to speak of.

Before you spring for a new tranny, did you try adjusting the vac modulator? It's the brass thing on the lower right outside the tranny. There's a fitting for your vac hose. Slide the hose off. Insert a small screw driver into the hole. Turn the screw either in or out to adjust.

Try this before popping for a new tranny.

Wish I had the T together for that but right now it is apart (better half saya she did not know there were so manypieces to a T) and out for paint will not have running for about 4 weeks from now need to be ready for the NSRA event in York Pa so limited time. Slip seems to be more than simple adjustment wish I knew this when unit and T still in one piece and running.
