Gerry,
Sounds good to me, I'll shut up about OS's for a while and yield the floor to the men with the cool cars! Sorry for the OS/Forum systems diversions. I'm just glad we still have this neat place to discuss cars. I do sort of wish the site included A's since I'm working on an A Closed Cab pickup at this time.
I've been thinking about electronic turn signals for the A and T. They are available from several sources commercially, or maybe I'll build my own. I think using a 4 way switch like a lot of remote controls for TVs / VCRs use, or maybe 4 way rocker switch like an electric outside mirror on a car uses, or even a joy stick would be good. You know, push the left arrow to turn left, the right arrow to turn right, the up arrow for 4 way flash, and the down arrow to reset everything. Maybe have it automagicly reset after x number of seconds. Anyone played with this at all? Seems like some 555 timers would do the trick, with some driver outputs. Didn't find much in the way of a ckt with a google search...
Also, anyone know of a good source for 12v LED light strips that would be suitable for stop/tail lights, when placed behind a red lens. On this pickup, I plan to cut slots in the bottom part of the rear box surround member, put lens' inside it, and lights hidden behind the lens'. They need to be pretty bright, but not more than about 4"-6" long. (That surround member is the thing that goes on the outside of the box, forms the stake pockets, and then goes on down and around the bottom of the box. It's about a 2" channel.) Since Washington just approved blue dots, I may include those too.
Any ideas?
