Please push play on this video. Now listen to the voice and imagine an angel falling from the highest of clouds when Roy hits the high notes especially around 3:30.

A tiny back story. Roy Orbison came to my hometown for a tiny concert when I was about 9. My mom took me to see him and I immediately became a fan. It is too bad he died so young at the age of 52. Nobody has ever had a better voice.

I had my boss put this song in his "boom boom" truck speakers and it was simply amazing.

From Wikipedia,

U2's Bono, a bit in awe of Orbison, witnessed the recording of the song:

I stood beside him and sang with him. He didn't seem to be singing. So I thought, 'He'll sing it the next take. He's just reading the words.' And then we went in to listen to the take, and there was this voice, which was the loudest whisper I've ever heard. He had been singing it. But he hardly moved his lips. And the voice was louder than the band in its own way. I don't know how he did that. It was like sleight of hand.

He was truly one of the greats.

One of my favorite groups "Traveling Wilburys" had all the greats in it including Roy. His voice makes the group complete. Here are my two favorite songs from the group when they were together. My 8 year old daughter listens to it all the time and is a big fan of RO.
