Welcome to the site. Blowers are pretty easy, once you have done one. I have a blower on my small block. I just bought a kit from Weiand, it had everything you need to install it. The tricky part is the carbs. Edelbrocks are easy to do. I bought 2 new 1406 carbs, all the directions are online to set them up. The one big thing is the balancer key, you need to add a 1/4 key and run a billet hub. This means the crank has to come out of the motor to have the extra keyway machined in. A lot of guys have gotten by without this extra key, and some have ruined their cranks. The little 3/16 key for the balancer is not enough to drive the blower.
Welcome also!, alot of our folks run blowers here. Education and studying blowers also helps. As GT63 suggests, pick up some books and read, read, read. Information is knowledge!
The great thing about those Pat Ganahl books (besides learning a lot about blower set-ups) is they enable you to ask intelligent questions on the forums as you are setting up and tuning your blower. I am constantly amazed and amused by people over on Hotrodders.com who post things like, "I just bought a blower, how do I set it up?" or "What should I look for in a blower?" Blowers are not terribly complicated, but you need to understand the technology and the relationships between all the parts... blower guts, blower drive ratios, boost curves, carburetion, ignition, engine components, compression ratio, valve timing, fuel/air ratio, detonation, etc.
There are several knowledgeable blower guys here on T-bucketeers, and there are a ton more over on Hotrodders.com. Read the books recommended above, then ask your questions. Most of all, have fun!!
