model a spindles

I have a set of spindles and no idea what year they are. Some places I read they are the same from'27-'47, other places they say '37-41. I have a set of kingpins and bushings from speedway and they will fit what I have. I do not have hubs yet. One spindle is stamped F28, the other is stamped F29. Can someone tell me what the difference is and whether or not I have a problem? Not pressing bushings until I know I can use them. Thank you in advance..... Johnny

What size are the backing plate mounting holes? 7/16" on the pre-'37 spindle and 1/2" on the '37 to '48 spindle. Is that part of the spindle round ('37 to '41)or rectangular (late '41 to '48)? If they have the 7/16" holes, hang 'em on the wall and look for the '37 to '48's. You will also need to match the king pin set to the year of the spindles, Late '41 to '48 are a bit longer.
