My dream

This forum serves a purpose: we provide encouragement. Not only do we share our collective wisdom about hot rodding, but we encourage each other in building our dream vehicles. Sadly, not all projects are completed, despite the encouragement. I think of Darlene (Island Girl) or Choppinczech, and there are others as well. My dream is that these stalled projects could somehow be visited by the Garage Squad and brought to life. What do you think?

I’m one of the stalled projects. I thought when I retired I would have plenty of time to work on it. It didn’t work out that way! Old age has a way of messing up plans. My heart said you can do it but my head said you are an idiot! Neuropathy makes walking painful and balance way off. I can’t walk without touching something stable. I’m almost done with heavy fab work so I will be able to sit and work so if I get lights and my welder wired I can make some headway. Right now it’s a roller and looks cool as hell so I’m not giving up. Just turned 80 and lost 20 lbs. so I’m enthused! I’m 5 pounds from what I weighed in 1989.

That's great news, John. I actually thought of you when I wrote this post and I'm glad to hear that the fire still burns in your heart. Keep plugging away and let the dream of driving it for the first time motivate you!

That is a wonderful dream @Spanky - Sometimes life just gets in the way.
It would be nice to see more of these dream vehicles get on the road.

My issue is I work full time, have 5 kids at home, and still have a lengthy honey-do list. I'm trying, buy a part every now and then. Hopefully soon I can make some headway on something. I love coming here and reading on the builds.

Thanks Spanky. When you have been a buckethead 53 years you don’t just stop! My head lags my ass trying to get something done. I spend a lot of time looking for something I have in my pocket!
