Ok... time for part number three, The engine. I was told this is a 350 vortec. I found a 5.7L casting that verifies the size, however unsure years or what model it came out of. This info would be great to differentiate at the auto store when buying parts since it seems impossible to order a quart of oil without telling the employee the year/make/model of the vehicle.
Here is what numbers I found:
14093638 Near trans
F103 Near trans
Large 2 next to GM5.7Lg sgi
14102193 on top of the heads
GM30 on top of left head
GM31 on top of right head
SIDR638 on the front of engine to the right
This engine will need... water pump, fuel pump, oil pan, alternator, carb, distributor, pulleys, brackets and im sure more once I start bolting things on.
The original owner told me this was a 350 vortec. However, he changed the intake to accept a carb. The intake has bolts that go straight down ( not on an angle) in which he said vortecs have.
IF this is truley a vortec, now that the intake was switched, with all other parts of a regular 350 bolt on to this "Vortec"? or will parts such as brackets and pulleys be slightly off?
Thanks guys! If you need any other info, I can get you that.
