I decided to try learning T-bucket upholstery, and of course it is far better to practice on the WIFE'S T-bucket rather than on my own. She wants pink, here ya go. The center section and seat are covered with cotton material verses the black naugahyde on the back, and I thought I should make those portions removable so that they can be easily removed and recovered as necessary. Someone asked in another post how much material was necessary to do this. I used between 4 and 5 yards of black, and between 2 and 3 yards of the pink/white. There is also foam, glue, welting and two different types of plywood involved, and I think the total material cost was around $300.00.

Like I said this is my first attempt so no laughing.

Here's a picture of my test panel for the paint that will go on the T.

Love the flames ... did you use some sort of template?

Nice work, I like it :hyper:

I drew my own template so I could do a mirror image on the other side. I draw it on medium weight paper, then run a pounce wheel on the lines to perforate them, tape the template to the car and spray the lines with an air brush. When you take the template off the paint dots that remain lay out the flames.

Not exactly my taste, but the work is as good as it comes, especially good flames.

Nice job on the interior and flames. On the Naugahyde did you buy prepleated or pleat yourself?

I glued the naugahyde to 1/2" foam with scrim backing, cut it into 3" X 24" strips, and then sewed them together to make long runs of pleats.

Hey 409, You just gave me hope. That is totally awsome job. I can't believe it's your first. WOW!

There was a lot of head scratching and trial-and-error involved. Emphasis on "a lot".
