Now another build

Soon we will be building my son his own T. He told me at the Nat's that he wouldn't mind having a T of his own but with less power. I told him we could do it as a project but he will be taught how to do it. Heck since it would cost him about a couple thousand dollars to buy a good trust worthy car he can build one he'll charish for ever. We are going to make the front of the frame long like mine so later when he decides he wants a V-8 then he'll have the room to do it....just cut off the old mounts and presto V-8.......I guess we'll have a family of T's in the yard....:soapbox: Heck he is 16 now and should have it done by 17. taking our time.

Your a good DAD and that kinda memory will stay with him forever, He will do those kinda things with his kids. Thats whats wrong with kids these days they dont have any respect for their mom and Dad. What kind motor are you going to run????? I saw a track T at the cruse night last night with a little for mustang OHC 4 cyl and he used the factory mustang shifter it looked very cool and fit Very well. There was a guy with a 3,8 GM RWD v6 in a 15 yearold bucket a couple of weeks ago running a turbo 350. I had to look twice to see it was a v6 ,it was also Very cool.

Thats it get the youth involved. I just am sick of hearing one word that should not be any where near a bucket Hybrid.LOL

The guy at refab (Vernon) in watts ok. told me he is building and Electric bucket.

Yea im with ya , i wont be investing in hybrids yet

I'll be looking for a vega or some other 4cyl that can run a carb set up. I just don't know where to start looking. I could use a 4 cyl s-10 motor if it would work like an older model 4 banger with out all that electronic stuff.

Look for older Datsun RWD engines/transmissions. Something out of a truck or a 510. Or a Toyota. Again RWD. Get the whole car. Use engine/trans/rear, even the driveshaft. Just make sure it's got a carb. Or a SIX CYLINDER ! There has to be tons of those around.
If you really put your mind to it ( and your son's mind to it ), the possibilities are endless.

John

Thats a good idea more aftermarket stuff for those type motors.

Monzas and clones in the late 70's came with lots of non computer engines including a buick v6 and an Iron Duke 4 that made torque up the waz. there are bits around and transmissions too. Just a thought.:D

Aren't T-buckets designed to look like Model T's? Why isn't there more love for Fords? If you're going for less power the Ford 2.3 wasn't a bad little engine.

I robbed the engine, transmission and rear out of a 1977 Pinto.
