Pan hard Bar

I'm thinking my panhard bar is too short. Too much thread showing with rear end centered. What say you all?

In Helicopter Maintenance we have various ways to determine the minimum thread engagement. Bell 412's pitch links you count the exposed threads. Other places the rod ends are designed to only allow a certain dimension exposed, like 1 inch or there are witness holes. If all else fails use 1.5 times the thread diameter screwed into the rod.

Johnny,

The 1.5 rule of thumb sounds about right. The one thing you want to check is the tapped thread holes. They need to be correct and not over sized or sloppy/loose as this could allow excessive movement causing failure. Just make sure the threads are snug as you screw the rod end into the tube.
