Russ, if you'll link me to the posts where you are experiencing troubles, I'll take a look and see if I can tell what's happening.

Mike,
I guess the link below will take you dirrectly to page 6 of my thread. take a look at post # 113 for an example of what gobbeldegook I was refering to. it's easy to spot :)
I also tried to place a link to a youtube video, in a lster post, but when I tried that the words "media" were added before and after my link when viewed in the preview window, and the link didn't show up at all in the post (which I edited to erase the post except to say that I'd try again later).
Thanks,
Russ

Russ, that is what is happening. Microsoft's formatting codes are knocking heads with the forum's BB Codes.

I like Word, it is really a slick word processor. I use Open Office in Linux, which is very similar and will even deal with .doc files. But the editors in forum software and blogging software are completely different editors and they are looking for straightforward text to be enterede, not text already formatted by another script. Which is why I recommend using NotePad in Windows, gEdit or Leafpad in Linux and whatever kind of text editor OS X has available - likely something called iLeatherBoundGildedLetteredReferenceBook. :)

There is a known bug in the forum software preventing me from editing those posts to clean them up. It is my understanding the issue has been fixed in Beta 3. If that is the case, remind me after the next upgrade and I'll have a go at it.
