Powder coating

WOW. I can't even imagine what it would take to spray that purple frame. all the corners and cranies would be a nightmare for most people. great job on that!!
As a virtual beginner to powdercoating, I find my best asset is learning from my mistakes, so I try and maximize my mistakes so I can learn faster.
This (one of my FI intake manifolds) was one of my mistakes that turned out kinda kool IMHO. I put down a white base and then a mirror black over that. it was too thin on the vertical surfaces and edges, so after baking, the white started showing. [shrug] I liked it so I left it alone!!!

Here is what I got accomplished ,, HF gun,,$50 oven used Prismatic Powder Ultra Chrome with Clear coat ,,No it is not perfect but getting the hang of it, the first 9 steps to powder coating should read Clean Clean Clean Clean,,,,, My biggest problem was orange peel BAD !! after coating and stripping trial and error I figured out I needed to preheat the part then put on the thinnest coat I could just to barley coat it cook till cure then cool down to a hot touch Just by feel,, didn't have a heat gun,, then put on the clear,,didn't dull it to much,, It is not an exact match for real chrome but looks pretty good in the sun light,,I did try three different chrome powders and this one was the best ,,They look better in the sun lot more shinny not the silverish gray,,
