Just a flap wheel on a 4 1/2" grinder or a conditioning pad in a angled die grinder....I just slick it up some, knock off the BB's, and maybe smooth a ragged start or end on a MIG weld. I don't actually remove any weld material.

I used to build gates that were powder coated after we built them. We just hit the beads with a scotchbrite on a grinder befor sending them to the coating line.
