Screaming Metal - Where are you ?

like this @Screaming Metal ? That might get his attention
Hey Guys....been on a long vacation, I don't take one very often....hadn't had one in over 10 years. Went out and bought a bike.... rode around some, seeing some of the countryside....
Am back now....all the stupidity of the folks coming up behind us to replace all us old farts....this world is in severe trouble.....

Let me also add, theres alot of folks that say the automotive industry here is thriving, all is good, and all this that and the other.
There aren't any American cars anymore. The factories they have here now add on parts from China, India, Philippines, where-ever.
Plus, all the aftermarket, 2/3rds of all the stuff being made is from over the big pond.
2/3rds of the Americans are now Low Income, mostly Americans, the most spoken language here now is Mexican....I'll stay out of the politics here....But, alot of the parts, the tech, the people behind all the tech....there are no mechanics anymore. We where the Physical/Digital generation....
Those now, are just plain digital....pretty damn sad.

Good to see you are alive and well!!!

Thanks guys for looking out....I hated to hear about Ted. Another master gone. We're all getting there, one day at a time.
I had a old Indian, a collectors bike, had it for 25+ years. Every now and again, would take it out to where ever and folks looked at it and goo'ed and gaa'ed at it all the time.
Met this guy that came into the shop....he saw it, went ape over it.... Wanted to buy it and I wasn't wanting to sell it. Told him if I were to get rid of it, it would be to get a new one to ride now. 3 days later, the guy comes in with a extremely low mileage Indian, the color I liked and all, on a trailer. He had a friend, they worked out a deal, and I got the bike. I ordered some stuff, and went off on vacation....will be at Sturgis this year....1st time....always wanted to go before I croak....
Anyway, back and refreshed....

Sturgis is or at least was a good time. Went there 11 years in a row. Finally, I decided that I had seen everything that could be seen there. Lots of good riding there for sure. Broken Spoke Saloon was a good place to sit outside and watch main street. Buffalo Chip sucked, along with that other yuppy place outside of town that has a tv show, or at least had one. Have fun, but do not exit any drinking establishment with a beer in your hand, if you drink, I mean.
Good to have you back, Lee

Great to see you back, Screaming. I'm also glad to see that you'll be imparting your vast knowledge on building fast and safe rides.

Jim

Was sitting on my backside watching Barret Jackson and wondered if Screaming Metal was back so I logged on and there he was, Good to see you back,

AGREED!! Best place in the world to leave from and just ride. 2011 my brother and I as well as 2 more took off from Sturgis and rode to the Pacific ocean as they had never seen the West coast. We stayed for Bike Week, with 2 day ride there, plus 2 more weeks on the bikes, plus another 2 days home. Great time and never want to ride for that much of a time again. Age hurts!!!

Glad to hear you're back and not MIA. Enjoy the bike and watch out for the crazy drivers with their heads buried in a damn cell phone. We've had a few close calls on our bike for that very reason.

Mike

Yes....was almost a hood ornament one day. Am installing a air horn tomorrow on the bike when I get up....some stupid lady talking on her cell phone tried to come over into my lane, almost ran me off the road

Damn....I typed too slow and it cut me off.....Anywhoooo,
I swore and be damned if I'd never ever ride a dresser. Well, got this thing, has a wind shield, saddlebags, trunk, cruise, its practically a car on 2 wheels....I'm getting up in age, arthritis, and if I have any trouble going up there or coming back, I'm gonna trike it during the winter. But, I've put several thousand miles on it over the past few months....its like sitting on the sofa going down the road.
Occassionally the butt gets sore....

Yep, I got hooked on dressers many years ago. I had a 70 Harley ElectraGlide that I restored. It was my first big motorcycle. I rode it for a few months without the bags and fairing. I liked the look of the bike without them. I had never ridden a MC with all that stuff and thought it was unneeded, but I stuck them back on for a trip. After that I just got hooked on the added comfort and practicality. I haven't had a bike without them since.

I know what you mean.....Have my smartphone holder on the handlebars, Bluetoothed to my helmet that way I can answer that phone while riding, My floating cup holder for my java. Got a couple of big bothersome scuffs/scratches on the windshield. Looks like crap at night....will have to polish them out....
Installed airhorn, nice and loud. Blew it while in the shop....even I heard it loud and clear!
