Hi Guys
Just bought a spirit chassis and body from the classified section
On this chassis the Gear Box mount is not installed
Does anyone have pics showing where and how it is installed on the framerail
Any help would be very good
Thanks
Frank

I myself would not mount it under the body, with the pitman arm hanging down... I would mount the box in front of the firewall, on top of the frame and let the pitman arm hang down from there, if you can get away without reversing the box, so that the arm can point up, rather than down, you now can mount it so it is just under the frame... That would require all new mounting plates, no Biggy... :) PS. I hope you are a very good welder or have a Buddy that is, and is helping you with this project...

The Spirit bracket is an under the frame mount with pitman arm pointing up. You should call or write to Josh at Spirit and he will send you dimensions and the info you need to get the braclet mounted in the right location. Contact Josh at Info@spiritcars.com.

Ted they are talking about a Spirit car here, they use the Vega box, not the Corvair. It does not have to be reversed and the pitman arm points up.

Here is a picture I found. Not very good but you can get the idea. We were running side by side about 70 MPH when this was shot. I did the best I could to crop and blow it up for you.
