Steering Damper problem

I tried to put a steering damper on, but the clamp was too small. Does anyone know who sells different sizes of steering clamps. I was told NAPA but the counter people looked at me like I had two heads. I went on line and you need a bunch of info not pertaining to my car. I can't grind it down to fit because there is not enough material. Any ideas? Thanks

Try an older ford tie rod adjuster sleeve. The clamp bolt might work and they come in bigger sizes Dwight

This is an ongoing problem. The only damper I know for street rods is the SO-CAL unit and it mounts with a small cheap clamp guaranteed to rust, scratch your chrome and slip. Someone needs to make a good looking adjustable damper with multiple mounting options. The motorcycle aftermarket has some sharp units, but they are designed for specific bikes, and are really expensive.

Had the same problem. I am using RPM radius rods and the clamp would not come close to ever fitting. Found a clamp that is used for off road trucks that bolt those lights to the roll bar.

If the tie rod is not chrome, why can't you weld a tab to the rod? Get the toe set so you don't have to turn the rod or you will need to disconnect the ends for adjustment. Just a thought.

The local hardware stores here seem to carry a good selection of stuff like that, ie Ace, Lowes. If you cannot find the clamp you need, you might try making a curved plate for the opposite side and using what ever length bolt/nut combination to make it work.
