All nice, but with a bit more effort you can 'hide' the rack inside the rails and under the body. Just a matter of choice.

Yea but yours is on the wrong side for us Westerners. Sorry about that Gerry
Now I understand the 1/2 rack. I couldn't figure what you guys were talking about. Now I got it. That's a great idea! Are there any production cars that use that?
Just use a mirror. Got to remember original Ts were RH drive, if I believe what I have read.
Racks don't care which side they go, another plus for using them. I can steer my T with one finger on a spoke of the wheel; mind you, the front tires are a little ore than 3" wide...
Did moving it out towards the wheel make the steering any stiffer, twitchier, etc...? I was considering adding a hole and moving mine out.My old bucket had a steering arm with multiple holes for the drag link. Moving closer to the kingpin speeds up the steering:
The first time I drove it seemed like I was driving an old school bus...i ended up installing a suicide knob to help with all the steering wheel cranking.Closer to the wheel makes the steering faster, and a little harder and a little twitchier, but not much. If you have room, add several holes and try them all.
Very trick! And I have a new source for parts, Sweet Manufacturing. Thanks! My rack and pinion is also hidden under the floor. I used a Sweet Manufacturing rack, which is meant for a dirt late model. View attachment 15221View attachment 15222
