T Bucket Newby

Looking at building my first t bucket.
Will be using fg body and my own fabricated frame.
I have a Model A frame that I was thinking of using, but from my understanding, it's not a good choice.
Still thinking of using the A running gear (all in great shape) except engine, the car was rebuilt about 10 years ago, but engine locked up while driving and was destroyed.
The body was sold and I ended up with the complete frame.
I'm seriously looking at a Ford 2.3l lima engine for power, c3 or 4 tranny (I have them sitting around) and doing a yoke replacement on the stock rearend to run open drive shaft.
This will be a weekend driver and used for parades only.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to our family. Your project sounds like a cool ride. Be aware that most of the T-buckets you see here are based on tried-and-true design that has stood the test of time. That said, there's no reason that using "A" components cannot be made to work. Please share pictures with us as you go. :)

If you're going to fabricate your own frame, then just use the A frame. Use 2x4s to rough out your dimensions then start modifying the frame. I'm looking at doing that with a 35 Chevy frame. Either way it's yours, just my opinion 👍
