After installing a Pertronix electronic distributor, my tach needle began jumping around at idle; anything above 1,500 RPM was smooth, but at or below 1,000 it was bouncing like heck.
So-o-o-o-o-o . . . the cure: after looking on the internet for a solution, I added a 10K ohm/.25 watt resistor between the ignition signal (green) wire from the tach and the coil. Voila – problem solved. Have any of you had a similar problem?
