The value of this site

i was sitting here pondering over all of the information that has been provided for the rearend selection discussion on another thread and there is a ton of good info offered by guys who have likely paid a great price over the years to learn it. It is readily offered just to help out fellow builders. This site really is a very valuable asset for newbies, or guys with less exposure. I wish there were such equities available when I was starting out. I would be a younger man due to all the time and aggravation I could have saved. Lol. Seriously, this really is a good thing.

Yes, there is a wealth of good information here. I try to absorb as much of the good stuff as possible for my old mind. The bad stuff, I try to remember also, to keep me from making the same mistake. When I was growing up and trying to build a hot rod of some sort, about all I could do was rely on buddies input or the old magazines.

This plase is not only a great source of technical advice...this place is also a source of hospitality and encouragement. Thank you one and all.

WELL--- that is why Mike started this Forum--- to help us dummies out building a dream Hot Rod for low bucks!!

This site is very valuable to me even though my bucket is completely built. Always learning something that I can use.

There are some good dudes here that have no problem with sharing all they know without too much ego. That's what makes this great. Not all of the advice is right for everyone, and as long as people can take and participate while not getting too wound up, I say it's "Its all Good!'

I like sharing what I know and shutting up on what I don't. I have experience in streetable cars, basic chassis building, and coatings. You'll never see me giving my 2 cents on a blower discussion or how to set up a jag rear end. Have no real-world knowledge of either, so I sit back and listed to guys like Ron Pope and Screaming Metal. I think its healthy to share with all if you can without coming off like a complete know-it-all jerk. We've had a few of those folks here from time to time and usually they puff themselves up so much and piss off everyone else that they end up getting kicked out of the door by Mike.

Well said, Ben.

I could not have built my 27T without the knowledge I gained from this site. Period. Spirit Cars, RPM and all the great advice I received from the guys here.

When I built my car in '72 I had only seen magazines. Looking back I can think of a lot of things I will change on the next one. This is still the first site I look at after emails!

Even if you don't agree with others advice, comments, it's nice to get a different perspective from guys with like interests. I used to have a couple guys that were always around the shop, I no longer have them and even though I was the lead guy on most projects, I miss the feedback. This site sort of fills that void. If everyone on this site were neibors, that would be an interesting neiborhood. Lol.

Broke ass Hot Rodders is what you would have in THAT neighborhood! Couldn't afford the beer/alcohol/pizza, plus the parts/messed up parts that wouldn't get put on the Hot Rod!!
