I have always loved this style of paint and the culture it once represented. Grated, it's not for everyone, and in fact most people would paint there street rod like this but I'm going to. It been a long time since I picked up a spray gun but I'm going to paint it myself. The photo below sums up the entire look for my project.

Tell Bucky's Auto Body that they can put their name on your car if they will paint it like that for free.

I was kidding. Seriously though, that should be a real interesting project and I'm sure it will look great when you're done. Take lots of pics so we can follow along.

What's really cool is the bed i'm making. It's fiberglass but instead of being straight it's curved like something out of Dr. Suess. It's gonna look really 70's and the paint should go right along with it.

Or I could really screw it up and have a bucket that looks like crap. It's kind of like gambling I guess but I think it's worth it.

The Dr. Seuss comment made me think of a photo album Akitagandy shared with us here...

Mike, that's going to look pretty sweet. I'm like you, I'm going to paint my car and has been many years since I painted a car.

Hi Eric, I have two Binks model 7's from the old days but i'm thinking of buying a new HVLP gun. If you don't own one don't buy one, I'll just send you mine in a box and you can use it.

Here is some more photos of paint ideas i'm kicking around

That bike tank came out nice. It is easy to see why you would want to paint your T-bucket like that.

Mike, I have a Binks model 7, along with about a half a dozen other paint guns. I'm like you I'm thinking about an HVLP gun myself.

I ordered 2 IWATA hvlp's but just found out yesterday the company went belly up so i'm calling them today to find out if I'm out a thousand dollars. The company is called Spraygunworld.com and it's online, they took my order just fine, but now a bunch of people are saying I won't be getting my new guns. Stressful day today !
