The US gallon is 7/10s of a UK one
so
Gas in now running at $7.50 per gallon US

Yeah, petrol prices over there are ridiculous. I generally fly into Glasgow (aka Port-adhair Eadar-nàiseanta Ghlaschu, or as Kenny Tarmac would say, "GLA") and a pal of mine who stays up near Dunblane comes to the airport to get me. He then takes me back when it's time to come back home. I always make sure to take he and his wife out for a fine dinner, to show my appreciation for the petrol expense.

For those unfamiliar with Kenny Tarmac, I'll wager you know the guy. You know the loudmouth on every flight that has to hit his cellphone as soon as the plane touches down? That's Kenny Tarmac.
