Touring Car

Just wondering why there's not more folks building a Touring Roadster like Wintec ? I think they are pretty cool looking. Any thoughts on this?

I think you can break street rodders into two, basic groups. And these are not one size fits all groups, I know there are exceptions. One group is the younger crowd, struggling to raise a young family, but with a need for automotive expression. The other group is the retired empty-nest group, where Dad is just trying to convince Mom he really isn't going through a mid-life crisis. In either instance, budgetary restraints prevent people from getting what they really want, and settling for what they can scarcely afford.

Personally, I like the looks of the touring tubs, probably just because they are different. I've always had a soft spot in my heart (or is that in my head) for people who can happily march to the beat of a different drum.

With all the grandchildren I have I'd love to have a tub but my building days are over. It's all I can do to keep my 47 year old bucket running, getting old isn't for sissies.

I think the touring style body is fine for those wanting extra seats, but what I'd prefer is a shortened touring style body. Something about halfway between a standard bucket and a touring body, that would give more seating room for 2, plus space behind the seats for carrying stuff...then make the door openings bigger for easier access. If there were something like that for a reasonable price, I'd be looking to sell the body I have.

Have you checked WINTEC? I believe that there touring body is like what you want.
