I asked this on another board and got all kinds of answers, from "You are asking for trouble", "You will be going to the graybar hotel", "No problem" to "Hell, I don't know!"

So, what do you fellas use to post your VIN on your T?

Thanks

If you got it inspected and they gave you a VIN then you can take number stamps and stamp it in the frame or get a plate engraved and rivet it on. Where did you get your VIN number?

I stamped mine into the frame on the drivers side near the firewall after the state of Illinois issued it back in 1967.

I have a Texas title for a 1923 ford with a really long vin number.

HMM I have a Texas Title for a 1923 ford and the VIN starts with a T and only has 6 or 7 numbers in it. I went down to the Mall and had it engraved on a small rectangular plate like they use on trophies and then riveted it to the frame.

Grant,
That's what I was going to do. You've never had a problem with the law? Also, when I'm ready to get my hot rod inspected, can you suggest a nice safe place to go?

Thanks

Mine has a Texas Title as a 1915 Ford Roadster with a Txxxxxx number that I got back in 1993 or so. Got an aluminum plate with the number stamped and pop riveted on the right frame rail in front of the firewall.

Inspected? what's that? I have Antique plates on mine, no inspection required.

Never had any trouble with the law. The only time I've had a cop pull in behind me was to look at the car.
