27 T lakester modified bodies

Wondering what is available out there for a 1927 T body in Fiberglass without a turtle deck attached for a lakester or a lakes modified look without the deck, but with a rounded back to the seat back area as apposed to a pickup with a flat back to the seat area, Want that rounded look.
What's out there in the market place.
Thank

My best friend has a Zipper with no bed, just a round gas tank in the rear. He used semi-elliptical springs at first, just changed the rear ones to a Jag rear end. The body has two operating doors which are nice, but it is smaller than I would like. Your mileage may vary.

I spoke with Zipper, but their bodies are more than I want as I will be doing a space type frame within the body for a stiffer overall car.
So I'm looking for a basic body that could be a bit longer and wider for the interior room for the frame.

Thanks

I bought one of the bodies offered on Ebay for a project my son and I are trying to get going. Like the 27 look and the fact it had 2 doors. Here is the gotcha! The doors were too large for the opening and underneath the door on the passenger side there was a nasty twist in the body. I still have the body but we went to Servierville and bought a big body body from Ron Pope and it is pretty straight. It is actually a bit larger than the 27 and has a decent look. I have no idea why you cannot find a 27 lakester body other than Zipper. Everybody that makes a 27 body puts turtle deck and trunk on the body. Evidently not enough demand, but lakes modifieds seem to be pretty popular right now.

That being said I would not purchase one of the bodies off Ebay. I looked for a year on the net and could not find one. If you are nervous about the big boy body Ron also has a body that is stock width with a 10 inch stretch in the cowl that would look good (not as roomy). That is one reason I drove to Ron's shop (freight the other) to make sure the big boy body did not look out of proportion and in my opinion for a lakes modified it does not.

Thanks for the feedback, as the Ebay does look rough, as you found out.
but I do like the 27 body lines better, not the 25 so much.
The Bigboy website doesn't really have any good pictures of the stretched/widened body.
If you have any pictures that would be Nice
Thanks again for the info :)

I've done plenty of searches thanks, but that doesn't find bodies that are not on the net/Websites.
Last year I found a trick little stylized T body in Brazil, but the guy wouldn't ship this far.
So why build something if it's already been done and waiting out there ?

Thanks

It's called knowledge. Accomplishment / Pride. And once you have it, no one can take it away. You may forget it if you have what I do, but mine comes back after awhile.

Just like riding a bike !!!:D:eek:o_O:whistling:

I have seen a 32 roadster pickup in person done in the lakes style and it is not proportioned correctly in my opinion. If you can stand to spend that much on a body one of the roadster pickup bodies would make a nice lakes modified.

Canadian dealer list. If there is one near you

This is pic of the pickup body. Brookvilles website sucks so I found this on Honest Charlies. It is pricey but it is steel and has two functional doors

If I could stand the price it is the way I would have went. $5000 for a body is lot to start with if you are cost conscious.
