Cromwell MFG Body

I see a few of you have used the Cromwell (Hot Rod Fiberglass) body on your builds. How was the quality, and how did the windshields stanchions fit. I'm thinking of using this body with Speedway windshield posts. Comparing the Speedway body to the the Cromwell, the area where the windshield posts mount look different.

Most people have to do some molding around the windshield posts to get them flush with the body, even with components from the same source. It's a common part of the build.

Mine required much work to meet my desires, but I modified it heavily anyways. I’m pretty sure it was a total performance. A lot of them require work, depending on your taste. The less they cost, the more work will be required, at least that’s my take.

Confession time: I made no attempt to mold my Speedway posts to my Spirit body. There are some gaps, but it doesn't bother me. I DID make sure to anchor the posts firmly on the inside, with the bolts going thru a steel plate rather than just washers. It's a little hard to see in the picture, but I don't think it looks bad. I'm not a car show kinda guy anyway.

Brings home the concept of swat equity

My car was built by a speed shop back in the day and repainted once since. They never worried about the sag in the cowl or the fact that one door was concave, the other convex.... I only noticed while in the process of adding functional doors and redoing the dash. It just depends on what you want, it’s your car!

I'm not looking for perfection..otherwise I'd go CCR. I did notice that Cromwell has a new mold as of 2019. The body lines look sharp from what I can see. But pictures can be deceptive.
