It's alive!

Yup, I spent hours cleaning and preparing my bike for the rolling thunder ride last year and it rained all the way there, part of the time there, and all the way home... I gave up on having a nice daily driver here in Ohio, it is a never ending task trying to keep anything clean.

One of the many reasons that I moved to Florida upon retirement was the crappy Ohio weather not to mention the roads that were the worst. The only thing that kept me there was that I had a good paying job. But upon retirement I moved ASAP!

I have friends that lives in Scottsdale, Tampa and my older son lives in North Carolina. Where am I; Chicago! What was I thinking? Like Ex Junk said, I also had a good paying job. I’m now retired and giving it some thought. What I do like about the midwest is the changing seasons. About the time you’re tired of the weather, it’s about to change.

I get it. I had an opportunity to leave Ohio in ‘99, but I elected to stay because of family, friends, etc. Now most of those reasons are gone, the kids are all but raised and gone, and I’m stuck due to being invested in real estate... we’re ready to go. Looking at several locations, preparing to market all holdings, but I’m dreading the thought of moving... I’ll have to let a lot of stuff go. I can’t take this crappy weather and the land maintenance that I once loved is really grinding on me. I was going to move to Florida, but I’m not sure I want the summer heat. Thinking Tennessee. Time will tell.

Checkout Mooreville, NC. Home of NASCAR and milder weather, summer and winter!

My son lives in Youngsville, NC, just northeast of Raleigh. Mooresville is about 150 miles west of Youngsville. Youngsville gets hot and humid in the summer. Mooresville might not be as humid.

I'm experiencing some very nasty weather here in California. It seems like the summers are getting hotter each year. I am also retired since october 2003.

It gets humid here, but quite livable. No where near as bad as other places that I have lived.

If you like seasons and really nice people, Woodbury, MN is an upscale suburb of the twin cities. Great cruises and shows. Mild summers. Very green. Winters are cold and snowy. We came here from Dallas and haven't looked back.
