One piece body

I recently purchased a 23T. It is a one Piece body with molded in 14" bed. Is there a way to tell who made the body?

I think Total Performance used to offer their bodies with a molded-in bed. I can't find my old catalog to verify, but I believe I'm right.

Finally found my old TP catalog, and I can confirm that they supplied bodies with molded-in PU bed. They describe it as "Our high quality fiberglass T-Bucket body with pre-molded custom dash and 14" pick up bed."

Total Performance offered two different bodies, a standard traditional body and an anniversary body. The anniversary body was a smooth body that was lower on the sides and a little taller at the rear. In the pictures below, it is the lighter color.

I had been leaning towards Speedway Motors after going over the car, but they don’t offer one with molded in bed, but everything else could have been gotten there. I see that the two companies merged. I’m guessing mine may be an older one, as it has a 283, with the block out of a 57 vette, and the heads are from 57 as well, just don’t know if from a vette by casting number alone. Thanks for the help

That should be a great engine for a T-bucket. Has all the power you'll ever need, and a 'cool factor' as well (350's are a dime-a-dozen). One of our group has a 283 in his bucket and does burnouts with no problem. Cooter, you listening???

I have been really impressed with my Spirit Industries extended body. It is very thick and seems to be very smooth. I have not started body work but haven’t noticed waves. Speedway bodies are very thin. You could at one time see shadows if your hand through the body. That was a while ago so they may have made it thicker. I have cut my body and it’s between 3/16” and 1/4” on the back panel where the kick up is. They will add the bed if you want and their windshield frame fits!
