I have the Hallcraft? wires on mine. I had some trouble recently with the front end and thought I would have to replace/change the front rims. I looked for replacements and learned that if the did still make them they were about 1500 bucks for the rims. Thank goodness I was able to find a...

    better brakes?

Does anyone have a good (better) solution for spindle mount wire wheel disc brakes? What I currently have are airheart 175s. They pretty much suck, but I don't know of another option with my wheel set up. I want to keep the spindle mounted wires up front. any help is greatly appreciated.

    Super squeeky!

Hi folks, I have a set of airheart 175s on the front of my bucket and they are squealing like crazy. It's embarassing to come to a stop now. I have tried everything I know,... scuffing the rotors, scuffing the pads, I even put a dab of rtv on the back of the pads. They still sound like...

    Death wobble truble???

Well there is certainly a lot of info here about the dreaded death wobble. I fixed mine by making sure that all the front end pieces were tight and right. Check your alignment, mine works well at 1/8 inch toed in, make sure your kingpins are shimmed so that there is no movement. check your...

    Engine swap

OK Gentlemen, Her is what I want to do. I have a 347 stroker that used to live in an 89 Mustang GT. It was married to a beefy, some would say "chunky", Tremec T-5. There love affair was one for the story books. It was fantastic to drive this beast. Alas I had to let the car go, but I...

Dreaded death wobble has returned... AAARRRGGGHHH!

That's some good scoop there Ted, and you're right...we went from death wobble to a balancing act to almost a little weight transfer. HAHA But all of the info is great. This is really helping me a lot. I started messing with cars about 17 years ago, but then half assed quit for a few years...

    What is it?

has anyone seen an article on the mechanics of friction shocks? I agree it's all a trade off, but I want to feel safe and confident when I stab the loud pedal. Right now I'm a long way from there. I'm working on it though, and I'll get there. You guys just keep your wisdom and opinions coming!

    Wheel hop

That's what I'm learning, and very rapidly at that. I mic'ed the piece in question and the wall is around .83ish All the rods on this car are built out of the same thing. I think it's all undersized, looking at the available pieces now, it looks like 7/8 od is about the minimum with 1"...

    What is it?

I just don't know enough. Why are friction shocks a no no? I've had folks tell me both ways, friction ok and friction bad. what are the pros and cons of each?
  20. N

    Wheel hop

I agree a shock will make the ride smoother, and I'm not saying a car shouldn't have them. What I am saying is that a front end perfectly set up will run straight and as smooth as the road surface it's running down. simply installing a shock and doing nothing else will not rectify a DW. You...
