Edelbrock leaking from plugs in the body

It’s older than I thought. 4/11/2019. Less than 100 miles on it. About 25 years ago I had an edelbrock and a Carter. No problems with them ever. This one has tested my patience. Not trying make them look bad just not happy with it. Today’s gasoline does not help at all. Just sent them an...

Edelbrock leaking from plugs in the body

Here are some pictures of my 1 year old card carb. Been having trouble with it for a year. Looks like one bottom plug is leaking and the one in the side. The drivers side intake had a lot of gas sitting in it after going to a show coming home and running it with the gas shut off until the psi...

Loud side pipes and maybe a solution

This is just for information to anyone with the same Situation. SBF 289 with a more than mild cam. 26” patriot side pipes with inserts does not provide much in DB reduction. After looking all over for something I decided to try augers. Dynatech 776-24352 11 x 3 1/2 These are 3.23” in diameter...

    Fuel pressure regulator placement

The main problem was gas in the engine after shutting off the engine. The regulator was hot 190+ degrees. Moving it was needed anyway. It did help. Adjusting the pressure was next. Then adjusting the floats. This was a new carb early last year. Waiting for carb gaskets before trying it out. The...

    Fuel pressure regulator placement

No it’s not. I just ordered some gaskets. Should have added that. It will quiver sometimes while driving. Thanks for the compliment. Push lock hose has really helped routing the fuel lines.

    Fuel pressure regulator placement

Decided to place it behind the carb. Runs cooler now. The PSI will rise 2 lbs at shutdown no matter what the temp is. Adjusted it to about 2.8 lbs so it’s around 4.5 lbs after shutdown. Also readjusted the floats. They were to high and one was 1/4 inch lower when hanging.

    Fuel pressure regulator placement

Yeah I struggled with flooding issues. Went through all the suggestions then ended up using this. The temp of the regulator housing was 190 degrees so decided to move it. The 90 degree in and out is a pain for locating it .

    Fuel pressure regulator placement

I had this Holley regulator on top of the motor near the thermostat housing. It was opening up right after shutdown. The gauge near the carb would be 3.5 running then 6-7 when stopped. Edelbrock carb with 1/2 “ wood spacer. The fuel pump is rated at 7 psi. Thinking about moving it to position...

Thanks Spanky ! It’s definitely a GM Pontiac. Not sure how they got it to work. I just hope the play is not in the axle Where the king pin goes through

    1962 Pontiac 11" rear drum

I was told this is the year of my brakes. There are no parking brake parts in the drum. After researching seems like Pontiac is not popular. The main problem is the way the E brake cable is attached to the backing plate. It uses a removable piece of metal. Unlike the gm version with just the...

Looking for round stainless steel tank with a sender.

My tank is homemade steel. I can't even say how the fill neck is attached because its so unsafe. Anyway i am looking at round 10x30 stainless tank with the fill on one end and a sender. Not had any luck except for aluminum which does not seem as safe as steel. Opinons on that side subject ?

Resistor or non resistor spark plug wires for a mallory E spark conversion ?

The taylor wires worked great. Making the custom wires was not bad for doing it the first time. The coil boot is a little small.

Small mallory cap with 2 swapped posts ! ?

Turns out that cap was causing a misfire ! Standard mallory cap fixed it. Now the coil primary measured in the 3-4 ohm range. Installed an accel 8140 (1.5 ohm). Instructions say no ballast resistor. This is being used with a mallory 6100M electronic conversion. I read different views on that...
