Florida is the first state that will require drug testing when applying for welfare (effective July 1st)! Some people are crying this is unconstitutional. How is this unconstitutional, yet it's okay that every working person had to pass a drug test in order to support those on welfare?

Amen to that and I will go one further. If they smoke and they have money to buy tobacco why should the taxpayer foot the bill for food.

This is from a taxpayer/ ex smoker.

I know it's off your topic.....But, Heres Florida..
florida-joke-map.jpg

My oldest son is a security guard at the state building in kc, and the things he tells me about the people coming through there for food stamps and other welfare help is scary. Some people need help and I am glad it is there, but there needs to be more regulations on who gets help.

Can they at least test to see if they are citizens as well?

Can't even get the truth out of the White House. How do you expect average people to provide proof?

When Bank of America announced its plans to give credit cards to illegal aliens, it became clear everything was going to Hell in a hand basket.

If they demand clean drug tests to receive welfare payments, sit back and watch how enterprising individuals start selling clean urine. Mark my words.

Here's my solution. If multiple doctors say you are incapable of working, then you deserve welfare. Each community needs to use a vacant building to set up a welfare administration/day care center. (And lets face it, there are more and more vacant buildings every day, no matter what the media says about the economy getting better.) If you want welfare, you report to the center each morning. If you're not capable of a lot of physical labor, you just became a sitter for the children of the ones who can work. If you're hardy enough, half of you get a box of trash bags and you go walk the streets and roads of your community, picking up trash. The other half get cleaning supplies and get to scrub graffiti off bridges and buildings. No free rides, if you're capable of working. You earn your welfare check.

If you don't want to work that hard for welfare wages, you have two choices. Do without or go get yourself a better job, like the rest of us dumb suckers who have been paying your freight for years.

And yes, we keep the drug testing in place, so we know you're not wasting money on dope.

That would eliminate the majority of our welfare problems, right off the bat. We could eliminate another huge chunk of the problem by denying aid to anyone who cannot produce a Social Security card. If we stop giving free rides to everyone capable of fogging a mirror, we'll likely see the northbound traffic at our southern border dropping off drastically. The country stands to save billions of dollars if we pull our troops out of all foreign countries and bring them back here to be stationed on our borders.

Oh, yeah, I forgot. Our president needs to scratch all those illegal welfare backs, as he continues to push for amnesty. He'll win his re-election by a landslide if he can get all the illegal votes, because right-thinking Americans can't be bothered to study the issues and cast wise votes. Can someone explain to me how we can expose ACORN for what they are, yet they continue to exist in this country? Do you know which of your elected officials voted to extend the Patriot Act? Are you going to work to see them voted out for it? Are you going to take the time to remind all the bruthas and sistas in the 'hood that their bro hasn't done diddley for them, to ensure they don't vote for him again?

It will doubtless tuck some panties, but we all need to decide if we're going to sit back and allow the crooks to continue taking over our country and stripping us of our liberties. Or if we're going get up off our duffs, educate ourselves on what needs to be done to restore this country to its former glory and then actually do something to make that happen. The people we've elected to office have allowed our welfare system to fail into disrepair. The people we've elected have allowed our immigration system to become a joke. The people we've elected want to give amnesty to illegals. The people we've elected take more of our liberties from us every day. We Hoosiers are no longer allowed to deny police entry to our homes, search warrant or no. If they want to enter our homes without a warrant, they enter our homes. How is that right? And don't think it won't happen to you.

How about a SWAT team breaking into a home, trying to collect a past-due student loan? Think it can't happen?

[media]

People, we (as in all of us who dutifully pay our taxes) spent countless dollars (and that's true, because the Fed has "misplaced" a couple billion bail-out dollars) on bailing out the banks, who chose to use stupid business practices to write loans, yet we pay SWAT teams to collect student loans?!?

Ask yourself what Barry Soetoro has really done for this country. He promised to close Gitmo. That didn't happen. He promised he would not raise taxes "one thin dime". That didn't happen. He promised to start drawing down troops in the Middle East. Not only has that not happened, he has sent even more troops, as well as invading Pakistan, Libya and Yemen. This guy is all smoke and mirrors. His job is to protect the freedoms of the American citizens, yet he continues to shove the Patriot Act down our throats. This country has a blueprint. That blueprint is known as the Constitution of the United States of America. It's time our government starts following that blueprint again, rather than walking all over it.

[media]

OK, Bruce, go ahead and can me.

I know to many people that vote a straight political party without looking at the issues. America wake up and look at the issues and vote for someone that will support what we the people want. having said that where do we find an honest politician.

having said that where do we find an honest politician.
If you're asking my opinion, I suggest one can be found in the 14th Congressional District of Texas.

I know, I know, there are going to be those who say Paul is too old to be electable. But allow me to remind you Gerald Ford warned the Republican Party that Ronald Reagan was unelectable.

Ron Paul has never voted for tax increases. He has never voted for Congressional pay increases. He has never taken a government-funded junket. His office makes a point to return any unused portion of his budget each year. He believes in the same tenets as the Founding Fathers of this nation, that the Constitution was written to protect the citizens from government and not to give government the abilities to oppress the people. He is the driving force behind HR459 and S202, demanding an audit of the Federal Reserve Bank.

The Fed is an unelected central bank that has held a monopoly over the use of money and credit in this country since 1913. In those 98 years, the U.S. dollar has lost over 95% of its purchasing power. In addition to the $45,000 debt each American citizen now owes to the government, the Fed has also created $14 trillion in debt and bail-out loans. And the Fed is the only bank is this country that feels it is exempt from transparent audits and accountability to Congress and the American people.

Ever read the U.S. Constitution? In Article 1, Section 8, you will find Congress has the Constitutional power, "To coin money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Stand of Weights and Measures;"

But let's read on to Article 1, Section 10. "No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation; grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal; coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts; pass any Bill of Attainder, ex post facto Law, or Law impairing the Obligation of Contracts, or grant any Title of Nobility." [emphasis mine - M.E.]

Now, let's look at the 10th Amendment. "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."

Since the States can make nothing but gold and silver coin a tender in payment of debts; and since the power to make fiat currency a tender in payment of debts has not been granted to the United States government, how is that the government can continue printing up scrip that is not backed by gold or silver?

Oh, yeah, this is where the Supreme Court comes into the picture. In November 1819, Thomas Jefferson wrote the following to Judge Spencer Roane -

"If [as the Federalists say] 'the judiciary is the last resort in relation to the other departments of the government,' … , then indeed is our Constitution a complete felo de so. … The Constitution, on this hypothesis, is a mere thing of wax in the hands of the judiciary, which they may twist and shape into any form they may please. It should be remembered, as an axiom of eternal truth in politics, that whatever power in any government is independent, is absolute also; in theory only, at first, while the spirit of the people is up, but in practice, as fast as that relaxes. Independence can be trusted nowhere but with the people in mass. They are inherently independent of all but moral law …"

Until the people in each state can wake up to see it is the states to whom nearly all Constitutional power is granted, we're doomed.

Did anyone happen to catch the interview with Jim Rogers, on CNBC yesterday? I tend to avoid most of CNBC's reports, but this interview was interesting. Here are some of Rogers' quotes -

"The debts that are in this country are skyrocketing. In the last three years the government has spent staggering amounts of money and the Federal Reserve is taking on staggering amounts of debt. When the problems arise next time…what are they going to do? They can’t quadruple the debt again. They cannot print that much more money. It’s gonna be worse the next time around."

"We’ve got troops in 150 countries around the world. They’re not doing us any good, they’re making enemies. They’re costing us a fortune."

"The U.S. is the largest debtor nation in the history of the world. The debts are going through the roof. Would you keep lending money to somebody who's spending money and not doing anything about it? No you wouldn't." He said the pound sterling lost 90% of its value when it was no longer the world's reserve currency and the dollar will, too. In keeping with his philosophy he said he owns the U.S. dollar and is waiting for a rally. "If it doesn't happen I'll have to sell and take my losses."

He called Federal Reservehttp://www.cnbc.com/id/43330938/ Chairman Ben Bernanke a "disaster" who has "never been right about anything" since he's been in Washington. "I hope he doesn't come back with QE3 but that's all he knows. The only thing he knows is to print money."

When pressed for his predictions when QE2 closes down at the end of this month, he said, "They're gonna bring it back because [Bernanke will] be terrified and Washington will be terrified," he said. "There's an election coming in November 2012. Washington's gonna print more money."

According to the Rasmussen Polls, the numbers are getting worse by the day.

26% of polled Americans strongly approve of Barack Obama, while 35% strongly disapprove of him.

The Consumer Confidence Index is currently at 74.7, down a full 10 points since last Friday's report on unemployment. We're just four points above the lowest level of this year.

Two years ago, 56% of Americans felt it was possible to work one's way out of poverty. That number is now at 44%

It's now a 50-50 split between Americans who feel those who want to work will be able to find a job.

One week ago today, 32% of Americans said they feel the economy is getting better. Today, that number is down to 24%. 55% say the economy is worsening.

What do investors say? One week ago today, 38% felt the economy was improving. Today, that number has fallen to 27%. 52% of American investors feel the economy is tanking.

And people continue to ignore the facts, so they can watch some reality show on TV. :shrug2:

OBAMA'S COLLEGE ROOMMATE SPEAKS OUT
By Wayne Allyn Root , June 6th, 2010

Barack Hussien Obama is no fool. He is not incompetent.
To the contrary, he is brilliant. He knows exactly what he's doing.
He is purposely overwhelming the U.S. economy to create systemic failure,
economic crisis and social chaos -- thereby destroying capitalism and
our country from within.

Barack Hussien Obama was my college classmate
( Columbia University , class of '83).
He is a devout Muslim do not be fooled.
Look at his Czars...anti-business..anti- american.
As Glenn Beck correctly predicted from day one, Barack Hussien Obama is
following the plan of Cloward & Piven, two professors at Columbi University .
They outlined a plan to socialize America by overwhelming the system
with government spending and entitlement demands.

Add up the clues below. Taken individually they're alarming.
Taken as a whole, it is a brilliant, Machiavellian game plan to turn
the United States into a socialist/Marxist state with a permanent majority
that desperately needs government for survival ... and can be counted
on to always vote for bigger government.

Why not? They have no responsibility to pay for it.

Universal health care . The health care bill had very little to do with health
care. It had everything to do with unionizing millions of hospital and
health care workers, as well as adding 15,000 to 20,000 new IRS agents (who will join government employee unions).
Obama doesn't care that giving free health care to 30 million Americans
will add trillions to the national debt.
What he does care about is that it cements the dependence of those 30 million voters to Democrats and big government .
Who but a socialist revolutionary would pass this reckless spending bill
in the middle of a depression?

Cap and trade. Like health care legislation having nothing to do with
health care, cap and trade has nothing to do with global warming.
It has everything to do with redistribution of income, government control
of the economy and a criminal payoff to Obama's biggest contributors.
Those powerful and wealthy unions and contributors (like GE, which owns
NBC, MSNBC and CNBC) can then be counted on to support everything Obama wants.
They will kick-back hundreds of millions of dollars in contributions to
Obama and the Democratic Party to keep them in power.
The bonus is that all the new taxes on Americans with bigger cars,
bigger homes and businesses helps Obama "spread the wealth around."

Make Puerto Rico a state. Why? Who's asking for a 51st state?
Who's asking for millions of new welfare recipients and government
entitlement addicts in the middle of a depression?
Certainly not American taxpayers.
But this has been Barack Hussien Obama's plan all along.
His goal is to add two new Democrat senators, five Democrat congressman and a million loyal Democratic voters who are dependent on big government.

Legalize 12 million illegal Mexican immigrants.
Just giving these 12 million potential new citizens free health care alone could overwhelm the system and bankrupt America .
But it adds 12 million reliable new Democrat voters who can be counted
on to support big government.
Add another few trillion dollars in welfare, aid to dependent children,
food stamps, free medical, education, tax credits for the poor, and
eventually Social Security .

Stimulus and bailouts. Where did all that money go?
It went to Democrat contributors, organizations (ACORN), and unions -- including billions of dollars to save or create jobs of government employees across the country.
It went to save GM and Chrysler so that their employees could
keep paying union dues.
It went to AIG so that Goldman Sachs could be bailed out
(after giving Obama almost $1 million in contributions).
A staggering $125 billion went to teachers (thereby protecting their union dues).

All those public employees will vote loyally Democrat to protect their
bloated salaries and pensions that are bankrupting America .
The country goes broke, future generations face a bleak future, but Obama, the Democrat Party, government, and the unions grow more powerful. The ends justify the means.

Raise taxes on small business owners, high-income earners, and job
creators. Put the entire burden on only the top 20 percent of taxpayers,
redistribute the income, punish success, and reward those who did
nothing to deserve it (except vote for Obama).
Reagan wanted to dramatically cut taxes in order to starve the government. Barack Obama wants to dramatically raise taxes to starve his political opposition. With the acts outlined above, Barack Hussien Obama and his regime have created a vast and rapidly expanding constituency of voters dependent on big government; a vast privileged class of public employees who work for big government; and a government dedicated to destroying capitalism and installing themselves as socialist rulers by overwhelming the system.

Add it up and you've got the perfect Marxist scheme -- all devised by
my Columbia University college classmate Barack Hussien Obama
using the Cloward and Piven Plan .

True per snopes!

If I spoke like this, Homeland would be knocking down my door!!! I just watch and listen and will act as time regulates me to do so!!! It is coming and no one knows when!!! Maybe my lifetime or my children or Grand children whom I've trained to survive without others will deal with it as it happens. Survival of the fittest rules when the powers to be in charge are for themselves and not the people of the masses!!!

All Democracies have failed within 200 years of their inception, and we have lasted about 25 years past that. At this rate we all are doomed for failure and a rebirth to happen in the near future. It will not be the North against the South, but the "People" against the "Few" who believe their way is best for "All".

Watch me Bruce, I'm next!!!!

I often opine at work that sometimes we need a dictator. A senior manager who will say to all that "this is the way it's going to be" rather than having teams try to figure out everything. I honestly think we need some of that in the USA now. We need a conservative dictator who will reverse and cancel the laws, regulations and policies that have gotten us into the mess we are in now. Federal and state governments have gotten too big. They have gone from a position of serving the people to one of ruling over the people. Need to get rid of some departments and scale back all others.
