Should i just drill it out the small amount needed? It goes in about 1/4"

That is more than likely a tapered hole for a rod end. If you are using a heim end you need to drill arm out.

Yes, I'm using a heim end. It didn't measure tapered. I'll drill it. Thanks.

Or, you could just run a tap through the hole and then use a locknut on the opposite side.

Well that's a great idea now that I drilled it lol. Not happy with clearances. I'm going to email Ron tomorrow, see if I'm doing something wrong vs how he designed it.

You could drill the arm and weld in a sleeve with the bolt size in it to bush it. Don’t want any play in steering. If you can use it I have 7/8” od. 1/2” id. tube I can send you.

That's a straight arm, factory arms have a slight bend in them. I get long bolts so I have a smooth shank to go in the holes then cut them so a thread or two is out of the nut.

You could use shear bolts on the heim joints.

They're sized by their shoulder and grip lengths. They have a shallow head, and are a more accurate fit than standard SAE bolts.

And there are shoulder bolts that have the same size threads. You don't have to step down to a smaller nut.

Chop, I don't like to hijack someone's thread but I clicked on the Aircraft Spruce website. Where does it show the bolt size ( diameter and thread size)? Am I missing something or am I just too dumb to see it?

Here's another link that gives dimensions. There's SO many sizes.
    Shop Bolts » Shear Bolts

If I were needing a certain size I'd have to contact them. I don't understand the correlating numbers.
